Finnegan the Fart Detective
A Live Comedy Theatre Experience for Kids.
By Lachlan Woods
About The Show
Finnegan the Fart Detective is a wildly funny, fast-moving mystery brought to life with binaural sound, live foley, original music and two performers who play an entire family of suspects. Wearing Silent Disco headphones, audiences hear every creak, squeak, splat and clue as if they’re inside the investigation itself.
Join Detective Finnegan and their sidekick Hamlet as they tackle a very suspicious smell, interrogate unlikely culprits and survive the arrival of a giant crowd-surfing rat. Packed with big laughs, playful twists and unforgettable sound-driven surprises — imaginative, interactive live performance made for curious kids and families.
45 minutes. No interval. Ages 5–12.
Touring to Schools, Venues and Festivals
Finnegan the Fart Detective tours to theatres, halls, festivals and flexible performance spaces. The entire show fits into the back of a small van – minimal technical footprint, maximum theatrical impact. Workshops are available to complement the performance.
What Makes It Different
Sound is the star. Each audience member wears wireless headphones, hearing every voice, creak and explosion in their own personal surround sound. An on-stage sound engineer mixes everything live so kids can see exactly how the magic is made. As one teacher put it: “watching the behind the scenes become the scenes. Completely original.”
The Creative Team
Finnegan the Fart Detective is written by Lachlan Woods – actor, writer and theatre-maker, and a graduate of the Victorian College of the Arts with credits including Melbourne Theatre Company, Sydney Theatre Company and Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.
